Sarah's Top-Secret Yummy Chicken Noodle Soup

From SarahSchmid via MoJo, first posted by NathanRasmussen

Sarah brought me this soup once when I was sick, wherefore I can attest that it is, as she bills it, "more effective than changing your bed sheet!"

  • boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • water
  • chicken broth
  • chicken bouillon cubes
  • celery
  • onion
  • carrot
  • oregano
  • salt
  • HomeMadeNoodles

Boil chicken in water for a long time. Boil carrots in another pot at the same time. When chicken is really tender, take it out and shred it up using a fork. Then dump it all back into the nice, chickeny water and add lots of chicken broth and bouillon cubes. You can also add water if you want it to go further, but be sure not to weaken the flavor. Chop carrots, celery, and onions and dump all that in the chicken concoction. Add salt and oregano to taste. Cook the whole mess for a long time to let the flavor get through everything. Then add the homemade noodles -- lots of them -- quickly, but one at a time to prevent them from sticking together. Cook another five or ten minutes. If you like it a little bit thicker, ThickenWithFlour.
