Bacon. Onion-mushroom saute in grease. French or sourdough bread, sliced horizontally into three layers and crisped in the remaining grease. Gouda or pepper jack. Raw red bell pepper. Optional: Spinach or mustard greens. Horseradish. Mayonnaise or the like, but only if it's good. Heart medication. You'll wonder if you haven't died and gone to heaven anyways.
French bread, triple horizontal slice as before, toasted in a pan with a little olive oil. Bottom bread. Moderate layer of Marmite. Couple slices extremely thin, tasty deli-style roast beef. Moderate layer of Marmite on underside of middle bread. Fried egg, over easy with yolk broken and a good crumble of oregano added just after breaking the yolk. And a little extra drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil, for fruitiness. Swiss cheese. Top bread. I can't even tell you how well the ingredients play together. Suffice it to say that every pair of ingredients interacts well, and the flavor profile is balanced and savory from the base of the Marmite right up to the fruity notes of the oil.
